I heard about this recipe on TV through Crockpot, The Official Crockpot but could never find the recipe link. Thanks to Better Homes and Gardens for the recipe.
It not only sounds awesome, but I think it would make a great Christmas Morning breakfast.
Enjoy! Stacy
Creme Brulee French Toast
Ingredients:
12 ounces of Jewish Challah Bread (you can find in any local bakery); cubed or torn apart
4 cups milk
1/2 cup sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp salt
caramel ice cream topping
Directions:
Place cubed bread into slow cooker. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the milk, sugar, eggs, vanilla and salt.
Pour mixture over bread cubes and press bread down with a wooden spoon to make sure all the bread is saturated.
Cover and chill in the refrigerator 4-24 hours. Remove from refrigerator and cook on low setting for 7-8 hours (start this before you go to bed Christmas Eve).
Slice french toast (scoop out) and top with warm caramel topping.
