Another successful March Madness is in the books!
My Pop came to visit for a week and we ate and drank like Rock Stars.
Brian arrived on Friday and Chick's best friend, Terry came up on Saturday and we had a raucous party (we stayed up until 11 PM).
Great games, buzzer beaters and upsets.

So many good things packed into a longer weekend.
It was my first Friday working remotely from Seattle. A bit hit and miss. I missed my second computer screen and slower connections speeds. I loved an extra long lunch and taking a fresh air break to read my book on the front porch.
Saturday was filled with walks and shopping...then some time pulling weeds and laying bark the Secret Garden...followed by a yummy curry and some gelato in Wallingford with friends.
Sunday was a beautiful Mother's Day brunch cooked by Brian. My table setting honored some of the women in our lives, china from a great-great Aunt, Ann Lee's Silver (Brian's mom) and water glasses given to me by Grandma Phyllis (Rosemary's Mother). Mom and Kenny brought their dog, Bella and we had a great day!

Brian and I had an amazing time in Tampa, Florida last week. I celebrated my birthday on the beach at Caladesi Island, walked the sponge docks in Tarpon Springs, ate stone crabs at Frenchy's in Dunedin and peel and eat gulf shrimp overlooking Clearwater Beach, chased pelicans and cardinals, sunsets and thunderstorms. Florida, I love you!
Best of all was hanging out with Brian's cousin, Randi and her mother (Brian's aunt) Faye.

We needed an adventure desperately!
We've had 14 out of 15 days of rain. Seattle is breaking records as one of the wettest Aprils on record.
When I first met Brian he told me, "I never let the weather dictate my life" so Saturday's almost 2 inches of rain was no issue.

Easter weekend was quiet. I had my nails done on Saturday and dropped off an Easter basket at my Mom's. I spent the rest of the weekend doing things I love...cooking great food, sipping on Chardonnay, listening to Hawaiian music and reading.
Sounds like a perfectly wonderful weekend after-all!

We had a pretty quiet Memorial Day weekend. Brian spent a lot of time in the kitchen completely spoiling me with some amazing food, including Chicken Marsala right when I got off the train Friday night.
We grilled Saturday after spending time in the yard cleaning up beds and planting flowers.
Sunday was an afternoon BBQ at Lake Morton with friends.
Monday was an extra special treat, as my train was cancelled and I got to spend the entire day and night in Seattle. Brian and I walked 4 miles up to the Alki Lighthouse for their Memorial Day open house tours.

It's not yet the middle of April and it's already been an amazing Birthday Month! Our weather has been the star of the show with last week's temps in the upper 70's low 80's!
Friday night was date night at Elliott Bay and I branched out and ordered their lamb meatball curry which was fabulous. We left the restaurant just in time to make it up to Solstice Park minutes after sunset and the sky put on quite a show.
Saturday's adventure was a car-free day up to the Seattle Arboretum...a place that we have never explored together.
Founded in 1934, the Arboretum has over 230 acres on the shores of Lake Washington. It contains one of the most diverse and important plant collections in North America displayed in acres of woodlands, wetlands, gardens and walking trails. The arboretum is internationally renowned for its collection of oaks, conifers, camellias, hollies and Japanese maples.
The park is accessible year round, but Azalea Way, the main road through he park is particularly inviting in springtime. Originally a road for the mill, Azalea Way is now a path, lined with enormous flowering bushes that explode in a sea of color as warm weather hits Seattle. At 3 miles round trip, the walk was a great way to get our exercise.
