12/52: March Madness
Another successful March Madness is in the books!
My Pop came to visit for a week and we ate and drank like Rock Stars.
Brian arrived on Friday and Chick's best friend, Terry came up on Saturday and we had a raucous party (we stayed up until 11 PM).
Great games, buzzer beaters and upsets.
Enjoy!

11/52: Dilly Dilly
It was so nice to stop and enjoy a long long week(end) with friends and family for our annual March Madness party!
Saturday night's antics corresponded with St. Patrick's Day (Dilly Dilly) so some extra fun was had by all. It was great that my Pop was at our place all week, Uncle Steve arrived Friday night and Terry and Brian arrived on Saturday.
I cooked some amazing meals, including seared salmon with zoodles and pinto beans from scratch with salsa verde chicken enchiladas.
Brackets were busted, but we didn't care, we yelled, screamed and cheered on our teams and had a pretty amazing weekend.
Enjoy!

13/52: Final Four Bound
It was back to Seattle last Friday afternoon. I didn't really want to drive (and I am not sure why I did except that Amtrak was not running due to another land slide), but I did enjoy arriving a bit earlier on Friday so that Brian and I could enjoy a nice quiet evening at home and a bit of the Elite 8 games. Can you believe the Oregon Ducks in the Final Four?
Sorry....I didn't personally take any pictures this weekend. I was too distracted with driving and basketball!
How did you celebrate the first weekend of Spring?
Enjoy!

12/52: No excellent soul is exempt from a mixture of madness
It's always just the right mix of good food, friends, family and basketball...but the first 4 days of the tournament go way too fast!
We are cleaning up and clearing out this morning. Brian and good friend Terry left Sunday and my Pop leaves today. No games until Thursday so we will mellow out and rest up before the Sweet 16.
Enjoy!

12/52: Madness is my specialty!

Aside from Christmas, the first week of March Madness is the best time of the year!
For the past 18 years, my Pop has been coming for a visit for 7 days to watch basketball, eat good food and drink good wine. We had a blast this past week!
Brian went back to Seattle on Friday morning and the next round of March Madness groupies, my uncle Steve arrived on Friday night. Then on Saturday morning, Chick's bestie, Terri arrived and we had one heck of a day!
Sunday we set up the Bloody Mary bar and ordered a couple of pizzas and watched the last of the first weekends games.
SWEET 16!!
Enjoy!

14/52: Final Four and Family Time
This is the first time in three weeks that Brian, Sammy and I were all together in West Seattle. My train ride on Friday was beautiful...brilliant blues and gorgeous greens the entire ride north.
Saturday was the NCAA Final Four ahead of Monday's championship game and it was also Easter weekend.
We had an amazing walk through Lincoln Park on Saturday and Sunday, a few chores and then Brian made a huge plate of Deer Park Nachos for the Final 4.
On Sunday, we drove home to Portland early and shared Easter baskets with Chick (Blondie enjoyed investigating) and I cooked a pork roast, scalloped potatoes and asparagus.
How was your Easter Weekend?
Enjoy!

12/52: Final Four Wrap Up
We had an awesome week at Rebecca Lane with my Pop, Brian, Uncle Steve, Chick and a weekend guest, Chick's childhood friend, Terry.
One of the highlights of the week is the traditional March Madness Box from my Aunt Judy in Ohio. She picks up various fun items, packs them in a box and sends it to us in time for the tournament. Even though she is miles and miles away, it feels like she is right with us.
We had some incredible food over the weekend....
Corned Beef and Cabbage

Mini Apple Pies

Corned Beef Hash and Poached Eggs
Some of the games went our way and some didn't. We screamed, cried, whooped and hollered for 4 days straight.
MADNESS!!!!
Enjoy!

12/52
Here is what we experienced the 12th week of the year!
MARCH MADNESS 2014
Pop spent 7 days at Rebecca Lane
We watched 4 straight days of basketball; that's 12+ hours each day and 48 games watched!
We ate some awesome food including a St. Patrick's Day Corned Beef Feed, Aloha Friday with Kalua Pork and Teriyaki Chicken Wings and a Bloody Mary Bar on Sunday
Cheers!
