If you are a regular to my blog, my apologies. Lots of stuff going on. Plans, parties and trips. Not to mention life....you know...work, eat, sleep...REPEAT!!!!
It's nice to take some time....a break and then look back at 3 or 4 weeks of photos to appreciate all that is going on around you.
Longer days! Sunsets on the train. April flowers!
Time to relax and take care of yourself! Time to walk. Time to eat a wonderful meal!
Enjoy!

38/52: College Football and Fall Decorations
Okay, it's almost fall. I give!
It's hard to believe.....how fast time goes by now. It just seems like yesterday we were putting away the Christmas decorations and in like just over 2 months from now we will be digging them out again!
I decorated for fall this past weekend. Saturday was dark, windy and wet.....the most perfect day to be at home.
We watched some college football which seems so foreign to me. I am in deep denial that it's not the middle of June.
Sunday before driving down to Portland, I tried a new breakfast recipe that we both really loved. Hash browns in a waffle iron...who knew?!
Enjoy!

23/52: Anniversary Weekend!
12 years! Wow! Brian and I have been together for 12 years. Happy Anniversary, baby! Here is to 12 more and 12 more after that with another option for 12 more on top of another 12 more after 12 more. I think you get my drift!
We drove back to Portland last Friday night. It was nice to get home before dark and have a nice relaxing evening after a very shortened post holiday work week. Our little boy was waiting for us when we walked in the door!
Saturday was SPECTACULAR! Hot weather but a nice breeze. A longer walk down Graham Street to Lincoln Park for over 4 miles. Yea, us! My baby cooked me an awesome cowboy hash, my favorite and we spent the rest of they day puttering around the house.
Our anniversary dinner was Italian at La Rustica along the water. Amazing! We sat outside and enjoyed an amazing bottle of Valpolicella wine, shared an appetizer of mussels in white wine and garlic before Brian's Chicken Parmesan and my Wild Boar Osso Bucco arrived.
Sunday was just plain HOT! 93 set a record in Seattle. I was pretty happy to get on the air-conditioned train and head to Portland.
Enjoy!

8/52: Welcome Back Home to Seattle
I missed my boys and two weekends in Seattle so it was exciting to travel home last Friday night.
We had a busy Saturday and filled our bellies all day! We started out with a yummy breakfast in honor of Step-Dad, Kenny's birthday. One of the best breakfasts I've had in awhile at the Country Cupboard Cafe in Burien.
Brian and I went to the movies on Saturday afternoon, to see "Spotlight". Excellent and one more to check off our Oscar 2016 list.
We ended the day with a super sized pepperoni pizza at Peel and Press in West Seattle.
My sweet boy Sammy was stuck to me like glue most of the weekend. He didn't want me to leave on Sunday night. I sure do miss my boys when I am gone.
How was your weekend?
Enjoy!

52/52: 2015 Holiday Wrap-Up!
We had the most amazing Christmas week! Although the days were short, we packed fun adventures into each one!
One of our favorite days was our day in downtown Seattle. We did a bit of shopping at Macy's and Old Navy, then Brian surprised me with a trip to Ann Taylor where he picked out a beautiful top for me.
We had a wonderful Christmas Day morning at home, followed by an afternoon of more presents and family time with my Mom and Kenny.
How was your Christmas? It went by super fast, but the good news is that I will be back in Seattle on Wednesday night for the New Year!
Enjoy!

48/52: Back home!
We drove back to Portland on Friday night under starry skies and cooler temps, met by our adorable cat at the front door when we arrived home.
Saturday, we took an amazing early morning walk down to Lincoln Park. Temps were barely above freezing and the sun glistened off the Olympic mountains freshly glazed in new snow.
We swung by my Mom's church to take a peak at their holiday bazaar. They had lots of holiday treasures, books and homemade goods. We bought $5 worth of goodies (to go along with our presents from True Value's annual open house)!
It was a bittersweet departure to Portland on Sunday fueled by an amazing breakfast (potato works) at Circa in West Seattle. I will not be back to Seattle until the first weekend in December. I did manage to plant my spring bulbs as our temps will continue to be cool to freezing this week. In 12 weeks I hope to see three rows of daffodils and tulips!
This week is Thanksgiving mode. Grocery shopping, prep cooking and preparing for the big day! Brian arrives back in Portland on Wednesday.
How did you spend your weekend? Did you travel or stay at home? Leave me a comment.
Enjoy!

West Seattle Weekend Wrap-Up: Spring and More Hoops, Please!

Still desperately searching for signs of Spring here in West Seattle. Spring began on Tuesday, but our temperatures remain cool (we had snow in Beaverton on Wednesday night). Both of us were grateful for a bit of weekend sunshine.

Measurable snow in Beaverton on 3/20/12

Plenty of time for an afternoon nap, time with adorable Sammy, a wonderful vegetarian shepard's pie and some kick-ass basketball. Final Four teams are set for next weekend!

On Sunday, Brian treated me to Luna Park Cafe for breakfast. It's a traditional diner and packed to the rafters on the weekends.

How was your first weekend of Spring?
Enjoy!

The Weekend Wrap Up
Not too terribly much going on in W. Seattle this weekend. We had planned a fall drive out of the city.....an adventure just the two of us, but Mother Nature wasn't very cooperative and we scrapped the idea until next Spring.
The rains started this week....lots of blustery-ness. Time to think about hibernating.
We had lots of house time as a result....watched the rain fall and the leaves blow. Time with Sammy to play and nap. Time to work on a 300 piece puzzle (Sammy did most of the work).
Time to go out to breakfast on Saturday and read the paper while sipping really good coffee. We treated ourselves to Edonlyne Joe's and a big plate of biscuits and gravy (Brian had bacon and eggs).
Time to make a big pot of fall chili and eat three steaming bowls while watching college football.Time together to sit on the couch and drink a big glass of Merlot.
See....not much going on at all!Enjoy!
