20/52: The Royal Wedding, Preakness Stakes Day and a 5K

I am not sure that we could have crammed anymore into this weekend.  It just so happens that quite a few fun events were all taking place in a 48 hour period.

How many of you got up at 3AM to watch the Royal Wedding?  I set my alarm for 3:00 and saw the arrival of family and the bride and the beautiful ceremony and then went back to sleep for a few hours before moving onto our next event!  I just can't put into words how amazing the wedding was and I am so glad that I taped it so that I can watch it again.  I think Amal Clooney looked phenomenal!

Saturday afternoon was the second leg of the triple crown at Emerald Downs and our friend, Jenny joined us and we had a great afternoon, sipping sparkling wine and NOT winning much money on any of the races.  Mark your calendar for 3 weeks to see if Justify will win the triple crown.

Finally on Sunday was the West Seattle 5K!  A big event for Brian and I and quite an accomplishment for both of us to participate in something so rewarding.  To be honest, we often times walk 2 5ks over the course of the weekend, but this one was a special goal that benefited not only ourselves but our community.

Enjoy!

39/52: Richard and Melissa's Wedding

It was a family affair over the weekend at the wedding of Richard and Melissa, daughter of Chick's best friend since 5th grade, Terri.

Melissa asked if Brian would marry them, as she found out from Chick and Terri that Brian is an ordained minister from the Universal Life Church.  This past weekend, our entire family gathered along with Richard and Melissa's friends and family to celebrate their marriage.

The Saturday evening wedding set in a Pleasant Hill, OR barn was beautiful and Brian performed his duties impeccably.

Congratulations to the happy couple!

Enjoy!

Old Photo Friday: Flower Girl, Stacy

WHO: Stacy Dare Brady, Candy Dahl and bridesmaids
WHAT: Wedding Day
WHERE: Eugene, OR
WHEN: Summer 1972

I believe this was the summer of 1972, I would have been 3 years old.  I was the flower girl for long time family friends (Uncle Bud and Aunt Pat Dahl's, daughter Candy).  Rumor has it, that I had to be bribed to walk down the isle (I believe with cake and ice cream), but I really stole the show.

Enjoy!

Please forgive me........new operating system on laptop so no home scanning for awhile until I can figure out how everything works again.  Scanner at work is hard to operate hence the odd shape pictures for a while.

Old Photo Friday: Ann's Wedding Day

Who: Vivian Ann Peterson (soon to be Lee)
What: Wedding day to Allen Kenneth Lee
Where: I believe they were married in Newark, DE
When: 1953

I've spent a lot of time over the past few weeks gathering photos of Brian's mom. In anticipation of her passing, I wanted to have some photos for a video montage and also to preserve her memory and spirit. This picture is my favorite. Okay, so I am a sucker for weddings and wedding dresses. I must say, that she is one of the most beautiful brides I've ever seen.

Enjoy!

Lee/Meager Reception

I think we were all really blown away by the reception site. It was the home of a doctor and friend of the Meager family (a member of their church) who warmly opened up his home to host the reception.

The decorations were beautiful....orchids on every table in a tall glass vase. Tables with white table clothes and candles. The most amazing views from high above the hills surrounding the town of Camarillo, California.

The garden setting framed by orange, avocado and pomegranate trees......wildflowers and cactus.

A gazebo just perfect for a beautiful wedding cake.

The Father of the Bride makes his beautiful toast!

The happy couple, moments before leaving on their Virgin Islands honeymoon.

A day worth cherishing for a very long time.

Enjoy!

Lee/Meager Wedding: More Photos!

The Lee Boys

After the wedding, family and friends gathered outside the church to offer congratulations and pose for some very special photos....

The Wedding Party

I especially liked the ones taken outside of the entire wedding party. I just stood behind the official photographer and "stole" some of her awesome shots.

After all the photos were taken, Brian and I headed off the Camarillo, California for the reception. Camarillo is named for Adolfo Camarillo, one of the few Californians to preserve the city's heritage after the arrival of Anglo settlers. Camarillo is located in the eastern Oxnard Plain, with the Santa Susana Mountains to the north, the Camarillo Hills to the northwest, the Conejo Valley to the east, and the western reaches of the Santa Monica Mountains to the south.

Reception photos to follow......

Enjoy! Stacy

Lee/Meager Wedding

Brian's niece, Ericka was married to Greg Meager on Sunday in Thousand Oaks, California.

Brian and I flew down on Saturday for the weekend.

It was nice to catch up with Brian's brothers and family and witness a wonderful event.

Alex Lee with Uncle Brian

It was a lovely ceremony. Ericka's sister Heidi was Matron of Honor and Brian's neice, Alex was a bridesmaid. The ceremony started a 4PM on a beautiful Sunday afternoon.

Greg's father, who is the pastor of their church officiated the ceremony. There was not a dry eye in the house including the bride and groom.

Best Man (Greg's brother) and sister-in-law

Heidi and Casey's Daughter, Hailey

Alex Lee (Bridesmaid)

Ericka was an absolutely stunning bride. Her dress was simplistically elegant and very fitting for such a remarkable young woman.

After the wedding, we all gathered outside for congratulations and special photo ops!

More photos to come............

Enjoy!
