Our 4th of July

Freedom has its life in the hearts, the actions, the spirit of men and so it must be daily earned and refreshed - else like a flower cut from its life-giving roots, it will wither and die.

~Dwight D. Eisenhower

Brian and I spent the 4th in and around Tacoma. The Tall ships were in town and the whole Foss Waterway/Old Town was a food/carnival/music extraveganza! Too fun!
Weather was so much cooler than last weekend so very enjoyable to be out and about.

We ate our traditional 4th dinner including both hamburgers AND hot dogs. Go figure! It was just the two of us and we had enough food for the entire city!

We didn't make it for any outdoor fireworks. The crowds and traffic (we opted for the bus during the day) were just more than either of us wanted to tackle.
